Week 2 - Discussion 1

 1. Communicator - the communicators in the video were Raphael Bosano, the news reporter, Sen. Sonny Angara, and Dr. Susan Mercado, both of which are interviewed by the news reporter.


2. Message - the message were about how PCR tests still detect even the tiniest particles of the Sars-Cov-2 virus. This was confirmed by Dr. Susan Mercado after Sen. Sonny Angara tested positive of CoViD-19 again even after recovery. It was said that the first virus in Sen. Angara's body was not fully wiped out even after his recovery, and it left out remnants of the virus, so when he was tested again, the laboratory results showed positive.

3. Medium - since this is a news report, the medium used here can either be the television, or any other gadgets that can be used by the viewers to stream the video. Meanwhile the channels used in the video were both verbal, and non-verbal.

4. Receiver - the receivers in this scenario are those people who watched the news. It can be considered as a one-way model of communication since the viewers will not be able to communicate back to Raphael Bosano, the news reporter.

5. Effect - those who were able to watch news can now be aware that patients who recovered from CoViD-19 can still retract the virus.

They are part of an interdependent system or process. If one goes missing, the whole communication process will not take place. 2.
