In your own words, what are the different types of speech according to purpose and delivery? There are three types of speeches according to purpose, they may be: informative, persuasive, or entertainment speech. The first type which is the informative speech, is mainly conducted to to disseminate information to an audience. An example of this is a lecture of a professor, this type of speech is also known as "expository." The second type is the persuasive speech, which is performed with the purpose of convincing an audience to what the speaker is saying. Some examples of people who give persuasive speeches are politicians and litigating lawyers. The last type of speech according to purpose is the entertainment speech, which seeks to bring laughter or joy to an audience. An example of this type is a skit of a comedian.
